Cookie policy

1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in the browser and can read back on later visits. It is used, for example, to keep someone signed in from one page to the next.
2. What Botgram stores
The service uses only cookies necessary for it to work and to stay secure:
- bg_session
- keeps you signed in to your workspace. It cannot be read by page scripts, expires at the end of the session and disappears on sign-out. Without it, you would have to sign in again on every page.
- NEXT_LOCALE
- remembers the language you chose (French or English), so you do not have to select it on every visit.
- Cloudflare Turnstile
- set on the sign-up and sign-in forms to tell a visitor from a bot. It protects accounts against automated creation and repeated sign-in attempts.
The display preference (light or dark theme) is saved in the browser's local storage. That is not a cookie: the information never leaves the device and is sent to no one.
3. What Botgram does not do
The site uses no advertising cookies, no social network trackers and no audience measurement tools. No browsing data is sold or shared for targeting purposes.
That is why no consent banner is shown: cookies strictly necessary to deliver a service the user has asked for are exempt from consent. Should audience measurement ever be added, consent would be collected beforehand and this page updated.
4. How to refuse or delete them
Every browser lets you view, block or delete cookies from its privacy settings. Clearing the site's storage also erases the theme preference.
Refusing the sign-in cookie makes the workspace unusable: the service could no longer recognise you from one page to the next. The public site remains available.
5. Changes to this page
This page is updated whenever the cookies in use change. How personal data is processed is described in the privacy policy.
